Some ideas to reinforce these special days include the five senses. Learn how peanut butter is made (learn about other nut butters if there are allergies) and use it in a recipe (recipes reinforce math skills). Dr. Seuss created many nonsense characters and words - create your own character, name it and draw it, then write a nonsense story/rhyme for it. Michealangelo made some wonderful statues - use modelling clay and create some sculptures of your own. Spring is a great time to take a walk and use all your senses - see the flower buds poking up from the ground, smell the blossoms bursting from the trees, feel the grass or splash in the puddles, hear the birds as they start to build their nests and taste the fresh blueberries. Many things can be learned during a nature walk in the spring. |
